Jessie & Dan

Jessie and Dan got married in autumn, on a lovely October’s day in Tewkesbury at a country house with a moat and its own church!

The happy couple are laid back, and fun! Jessie has an arty, quirky side and doesn’t like a lot of fuss but loves fun things that reflect her happy-go-lucky personality. Their colour scheme was mint, grey and peach, and I also had to accommodate family members with allergies.

Jess has always loved gerberas, so I decided to mix artificial flowers in with the real ones so she could have mint green gerberas (which actually turned out to be more duck egg in colour) and real peach coloured gerberas. We decided to make all the buttonholes and guest corsages in silk flowers to accommodate those with flower allergies which turned out to be a good thing, as the wedding was away from home and the wedding order was huge!

I created Jessie’s bride’s bouquet with peach gerberas, peach spray roses, white roses, white eryngium, vuvuzela roses, white astrantia, eucalyptus, parvifolia eucalyptus, olive, peach hypericum, grey brunia, white astilbe, asparagus fern, and leather leaf.

I also made three bridesmaid bouquets using silk mint gerberas and white natural flowers and greenery,  one mother-of-the-bride corsage, seven silk white corsages, six silk groomsmen buttonholes using mint green gerberas, two groom and best man buttonholes using peach gerberas, four large kilner jars of mixed flowers, fifty small jars of flowers, eight pew decorations, pulpit flowers and church porch flowers using foliage from the churchyard. I also had the opportunity to create one large eucalyptus and assorted foliage wreath with mint green and peach gerberas, which was hung on the church entrance door in the porch.

The wedding day was relaxed, fun, with a few surprises; the guests were especially delighted by the fireworks and sparklers over the moat of the venue!
